Associated Seafoods Shortlisted For Three Prestigious North East Scotland Food & Drink Awards

Buckie based Associated Seafoods Ltd (ASL) has been shortlisted for three prestigious North East Scotland Food and Drink Awards 2019 in recognition of the innovation and strong sales performance of its Scottish smoked salmon, as well as its commitment to investing in staff development.

In the ‘Best Retail Product (Large Business)’ category, M&S Scottish Speybay Sweetcure Smoked Salmon produced by ASL was shortlisted for its great taste and innovation.

In a meticulous production process, the salmon is cured with salt and muscovado sugar and carefully smoked to a perfect buttery texture, before a further smoke over smouldering Speyside whisky cask shavings. It is then hand dressed with Scottish Dulse seaweed, delivering a savoury finish.

In the ‘Export Business of the Year’ category ASL was shortlisted because of the company’s strong growth in overseas markets that has resulted in its premium Scottish smoked salmon being sold to almost 30 countries around the world.

ASL was also shortlisted in the ‘Investing in Skills Development’ category in recognition of its commitment to investing in training schemes for staff to ensure their personal development.

The North East Scotland Food and Drink Awards 2019 celebrate the best of food and drink throughout Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire and Moray.

The awards ceremony will be held at the Ardoe House Hotel, Aberdeen, on 21 March 2019.
