Supporting the Community

Our business is based at the heart of two communities, Buckie and Arbroath, with a long history of fishing and associated industries and so as one of the largest employers in both areas we feel a strong responsibility to play an active role in preserving their culture and heritage by  encouraging and informing the next generation about the benefits and opportunities of working in the seafood industry of today.

We work closely with local primary and secondary schools to teach and inspire young people about the career opportunities available in the seafood sector and often run recipe competitions in schools where the students use our salmon as the main ingredient.

We have close links to the Moray Chamber of Commerce and Moray Council, as well as working with national initiatives such as Developing the Young Workforce and the Career Ready Programmes. Several of our employees have acted as mentors within the Career Ready Programme and we have hosted several summer internship positions. In 2021 we even had our first Alumni intern become a first-time mentor.
